A hand-pulled screen print in an edition of ten
This is the first Broadside ever issued by Circus Bazaar. Not the first sheet of a series that will improve on it — the first appearance of the whole company at once, in the year the workshop started.
How it is made
Every sheet is a hand-pulled screen print on Fabriano Unica, a 250 gsm mould-made paper of 50% cotton, at 500 × 700 mm. One pass of the squeegee, one sheet, one pair of hands. No two are identical, and they are not meant to be.
The ink is Permaset: water-based, solvent-free, and free of PVC, phthalates and aromatic hydrocarbons. It is the only ink Circus Bazaar uses.
The edition
Ten domains. Ten sheets of each. One hundred sheets in all, and no more, ever. Each sheet is numbered within its own domain — III of X, not 47 of 100. There is no reprint. When a domain is gone it is gone.
Bill II will come. It will be a different show. It will not be the first one.
